Position Summary
We are seeking a Technical Writer to create high-quality documentation that communicates complex technical and business information in a clear and concise manner. The ideal candidate will work closely with software developers, product managers, business stakeholders, and other teams to develop content for various audiences, including end users, developers, business executives, and stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Product Documentation:
- Create easy-to-follow user manuals and guides for end users.
- Develop step-by-step installation and configuration documents.
- Collaborate with UI/UX teams to ensure documentation aligns with product design and ease of use.
- Write troubleshooting guides and FAQs to enhance customer self-service support.
- API Documentation:
- Create and maintain API documentation, including endpoints, request/response structures, authentication methods, and use cases for developers integrating with our platforms.
- Collaborate with developers to maintain accurate technical details.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
- Develop SOPs to standardize business and IT operations.
- Work with different departments to ensure compliance with industry best practices.
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs):
- Draft SLAs defining service expectations, responsibilities, and support agreements.
- Ensure compliance with industry and organizational standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a technology or business environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts, APIs, and software development processes.
- Experience with documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, or API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman).
- Ability to work with engineering teams to understand and document complex technical concepts.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (Visio, Adobe Illustrator) for diagrams and visuals is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Strong research and analytical skills with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and usability.
Preferred:
- Experience working in Product/SaaS, IT services, or technology companies.
- Experience with structured writing methodologies (DITA, XML).
- Knowledge of IT security and DevOps documentation.
- Good to have knowledge of data compliance (GDPR, SOC 2).
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
