Do More Business & Recognise Your Best Supplier!

India's "Best Suppliers"

Most businesses are quick to recognise their Best Customers, but few recognise their suppliers. Like good employees, good suppliers are the backbone of any successful business. Following an idea that Andy Bounds shared at the November BNI conference, we decided to have a BNI meeting that would recognise suppliers specifically. So BNI India's founding chapter had a very special meeting on January 13th where each member invited and recognised their Best Supplier for 2004.

We had over 13 quality suppliers attend the high energy meeting. There was a diverse set of suppliers from insurance to warehousing to a telecom equipment supplier. Invited suppliers also represented categories that were vacant in the chapter and therefore produced great potential BNI candidates.

Each supplier was introduced via a written testimonial from the member and presented with a special certificate. Each member offered specific reasons why they would recommend the supplier to their fellow members.

The event succeeded in building massive goodwill and helped strengthen existing customer-supplier relationships. It also introduced BNI members to a large number of quality companies that could be potential customers. Both members and suppliers walked away with new business. This special event was so successful that we intend to make this an annual event.

New Zealand
New Zealand Member Promotes BNI on TV

Selwyn Paynter of Capital Financial Planning Ltd., and President of BNI Hub Chapter in Christchurch, New Zealand, was recently interviewed on CTV, the local Christchurch television station. The interview topic was BNI and the benefits of membership.

The program aired three times and it is scheduled to be shown again in the future. The opportunity to be seen live on local TV came through chapter member Gloria Micaleff, a media representative for CTV. Gloria thought it would be a great way to promote BNI to the community.

KICK-ON Day

Traditionally when a new chapter is chartered, BNI runs a "Kick-Off" to promote the benefits of BNI and to meet and invite quality prospective members.

The members of the REEF Chapter in Cairns, Australia have enthusiastically joined forces and have gone one step further by conducting a "KICK-ON" breakfast meeting. The REEF Chapter is now the second largest in Australia with 39 members and great momentum for further growth.

Malaysia
Rumble of the Titans

December 22nd 2004 was filled with fun and festivity as the two largest chapters in Malaysia, Uptown and Inspire, gathered together for a joint meeting entitled "Rumble of the Titans." Over 122 people attended the meeting in all.

Uptown and Inspire attempted to win the "rumble" by out referring each other. Members shouted, whistled and danced as over 330 referrals were passed out. And, what was the result of the rumble? Mutual high spirited giving—proving that Givers Gain.
