On April 12, 2012, BNI Kansas held the largest non-BNI-Conference event in the U.S. to date. The successful business luncheon event, “Project 1000: Changing the Way the World Does Business," drew a whopping 863 attendees!

The event featured Dr. Ivan Misner as a speaker and was held at the Ritz Charles Convention Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Dr. Misner took the stage and shared how to be more effective at networking and building business relationships. He also presented material from his new book, Business Networking and Sex, not what you think. Dr. Misner signed books after the luncheon, and during the afternoon breakout session, attendees met him up close and personal while he answered questions.

Says BNI Kansas Executive Director Frank La Placa, "Special recognition should go to Steve Wiegert (pictured above), executive director Kansas City Missouri Region, for helping to promote the event and to all our sponsors and Strategic Alliance Partners."
At the breakout session a funny, insightful video from Norm Dominguez, BNI's CEO, opened the session. Then, Bill Ballard, a black-badge member from the Missouri Region, shared about his time with Dr. Misner at the BNI International Conference last year and Sue Henry, an Area Director Consultant from Minnesota, told a story about Ivan and a $60,000 Mothers Day gift.

Congratulations to BNI Kansas and BNI Kansas Executive Director, Frank La Placa (pictured above), on your record-setting event! |
