2007 Theme: “Who Can You Refer Today?”™Released: Jan 3, 2007

Last year’s BNI theme, “We All Speak the Language of Referrals,” reminded us that word-of-mouth marketing is a concept that crosses cultural, ethnic, and political boundaries. This year’s BNI theme, “Who Can You Refer Today?,”™ again stems from a philosophy which is universal to all of us – the philosophy upon which BNI is based – Givers Gain.
In the book Givers Gain: The BNI Story, Dr. Ivan Misner discusses Givers Gain – the founding principle of BNI – in a way that is strikingly synergistic with the universality of the concept of International Networking Week™ and the 2007 BNI theme, “Who Can You Refer Today?,”™ when he says:
“The logic (is) self-evident . . . It (is), after all, the basis of a universal ethic, common to all religions, a fairness imperative that underlies morality in all cultures – the Law of Reciprocity.”
“Who Can You Refer Today?,”™ the theme for both International Networking Week and all of BNI in 2007, exemplifies the purpose of BNI – to enact the Law of Reciprocity by giving people all over the world a positive, effective system in which to conduct mutually beneficial, referral based networking. International Networking Week™, this February 5th – 9th, is BNI’s chance to increase awareness and recognition about the value of networking, but this powerful theme of generosity will now echo throughout the remainder of 2007!
Everybody wants referrals and when we generate referrals for others, we are ultimately generating more referrals for ourselves – everybody wins! So, join BNI in transcending divisions and creating a spirit of unity and generosity not only during International Networking Week™, but for all of 2007 and thereafter!
With this year being the first International Networking Week™, BNI’s networking system is continuing to cut across cultural barriers with a winning, far-reaching concept that is truly international. We get back what we give, so in this New Year, make it a 2007 resolution to always ask yourself . . . "Who Can I Refer Today?"
